Difference between Email Marketing and Regular Email
Email marketing differs from regular email in a variety of ways.
Email is used by the individual for many purposes; writing to friends and loved ones, communication between employees, and for receiving confirmation for things such as train reservations.
Email marketing, however, is used for specific purposes and is sent to a mass of recipients. Email marketing is frequently used to get information to large group of people at once. Often this information is about a sale or an event. It is also used to convince people to become new customers. Companies utilize email marketing to maintain relationships with customers that are already participating in the company's offerings as well.
In contrast to regular email, the emails sent for the purposes of marketing are frequently automated. Sometimes there content is even created by a program and automatically sent. Since, emails used for marketing are frequently sent en masse, marketers have a greater chance of their emails being labeled as spam.
A marketing email frequently includes components not used in personal email. Graphics, for example, are a large part of marketing emails. An image can have a large impact on a professional customer, holding a person's interest longer than a block of text might. Marketing emails are also often calibrated to a specific customer's interests, based on what the individual has purchased or clicked on in the past.
