I have sent a message to 4000 recipients and it took me 2 hours to send everything. Is this the normal rate?

The sending rate depends mainly on your internet connection upload speed.
According to the detailed you gave me, I guess your upload speed might be around 64kbps and that the message, with images, is around 40k.

Since you have 4000 recipients, you must be using the pro version. With this version you can change in the application setting the number of simultaneous threads and send at very high rate (apr. 40,000 for hour). But this also depends0 on your upload speed!

If you just change the simultaneous threads and won't have a better upload speed the sending rate will not approve.
Moreover, if you know how to host the images from your newsletter somewhere in the internet instead of embed them in the message, your sending rate might approved dramatically (depends on how many images you use in your newsletter).
The default configuration when you first install the software is to embed the images because many users don’t have an internet site to upload there images (or they do have, but don’t know how to put a static URL to the images inside their newsletter, changing that configuration might improve your rate.

Good Luck
